Sony Offering Free ‘AllClear ID Plus’ Service

Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Corporation are continuing to do what they can to make things right in a very intense and under extreme pressure situation. They've got the media up and down their backs, Senators from Connecticut hounding them and many of their own fans and friends turning on them. Many gaming websites Sony have continued to support are demanding more and more daily and Sony are just trying to keep on their feet. Microsoft is apparently aware of the situation and feels for Sony and respectably aren't taking advantage of the situation and kicking Sony while they're down. At least not publically anyway. It seems to be a repeat of the launch of the PlayStation 3. A lot of negative press and a lot of hatred that's going to take a lot of work for Sony to try and come back from it all.

What the press however fails to acknowledge are the things Sony are trying to do make things right in a situation that clearly is the doing of hackers. Many gamers have been supportive and hope simply that Sony does things right this time around and don't let things happen again. Its pretty awesome. I'm going to go ahead and be outspoken and express my disappointment in the gaming site IGN.com and particularly their editor Colin Moriarty whom you will typically see in total praise of the PlayStation 3. What's interesting is in how a moment of crisis that view has changed and he's become quite the opposite. You might think that in his position with all the privileges he's obtained from Sony, he might be a little more sympathetic and a little more supportive. No result of this has directly effected him other than he's out a few weeks of PSN which he claims he never plays online games anyway.

Never-the-less Sony have responded and granted the boon of people like him with PlayStation Plus extention and other free goodies. But, Sony today has taken the situation very seriously and have once again thought of all their PlayStation Fans and users. Sony thus, is offering Free "AllClear ID Plus' Service," is what its called, which basically complimentary enrollment in an identity theft protection program that is offered to all PlayStation Network and Qriocity users. You can read more about it on the PlayStation Blog in the link below. Make sure you check it out.

There is still no word as to when exactly PlayStation Network will be up though its likely we may not see it until next week. Sony have stated that they are continuously working around the clock to solve the issues and are in fact in the final stages running it through the tests and for us, that's alright. The more time they get and the more patient we are, the better we can expect. Now, surely Sony have prepared for this and hopefully are certain as hackers are surely going to strike back and test Sony's performance once again only this time, hopefully the wall doesn't come down.

Its clear Sony has a strong support team of fans hoping for a more secure online gaming service without the worries of hackers or cheaters. Hopefully, this will give it to them.
