We've said it before and we'll say it again. Sony is continually doing what they can to regain the trust of its users over an incident that majority claim to be the Hackers are at fault. We agree. What has happened however is that during the course of PlayStation Networks repair, we're a little behind on content. Certain games and demo's we were unable to play as well as services such as Qore with the absolute stunning Veronica Belmont, yes we think she tops the list of gamer chics as well as Pulse catching us up on all the latest and greatest news going on at Sony. To solve this issue, Sony have stated through their PlayStation Blog, that Sony will play catch-up and that the Store will be getting several updates a week for a little while until we're fully caught up. (Thankfully we didn't miss Sega's re-release of Comix Zone. I can't wait to actually get trophies for the game)
Also, more details have emerged concerning Sony's 'Welcome Back Program' in which Sony have opted to give away free games to those whom had owned a PS3 prior to 20 April. Some would say Sony are "simply making right a wrong," but call us what you will but for its that Sony is simply just spoiling its gamers even more with free stuff over complaints of a service that was already free. The newest details that have emerged are as follows:
Gamers can select two of the five following PlayStation 3 games:
Dead Nation
Infamous
LittleBigPlanet
Super Stardust HD
WipeOut HD + Fury
Those with PSPs can also cop two of four following PSP games:
LittleBigPlanet PSP
ModNation Racers PSP
Pursuit Force
Killzone Liberation
Additionally, the PlayStation faithful can look forward to the following:
"A selection of 'On Us' rental movie titles" for use on a single weekend. The weekend in question and the titles available have yet to be determined.
Non-PlayStation Plus subscribers get 30 free days of PlayStation Plus.
Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers get 60 free days of PlayStation Plus.
This doesn't include what is still to take place for those using SOE products such as DC Universe Online, Free Relms and others but those will be coming sure enough. We look forward to Sony dishing its goodies though we certainly will stand and say they don't owe it us. So, thanks Sony.
