What in the world is going on this year at the 2011 Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3)? We've just heard that Nintendo is rumored to announce their next generation console and now Sony has traded up the Shrine Auditorium for this guy right here. The Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. What could Sony have planned that justifies such a massive structure? I mean, Press for E3 is still extremely limited isn't it? Here's the Shrine that Sony has done their Press Conferences in the last few years since Jack Tretton took over.
The Shrine seems big enough to house such a massive showing from Sony but, to trade up the Shrine for a football arena, what have you got planned for this year Sony? Jumping acrobats leaping around like Lara Croft or Nathan Drake? In honors of Twisted Metal PS3, do the press get to watch a real destruction derby with its drivers all wearing Twisted Metal costumes. If you thought the LA Memorial Sports Arena looks small in the shot above, this beast houses over 16,000 while the shrine housed 6300 seats.
Come June 6 in L.A. this year, it looks like we'll find out then. Until then check back and stay tuned for all things PlayStation and all other things gaming keeping you in the X-Gamer Zone right here on ThumbDriveXGZ.
