Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Reviews: Beware of Hype (PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox)

Tis the season it would appear and we've been able to play through a lot of games thus far this year and there still is a lot more where that came from. But, what is likely to be the biggest multiplatform release of the year, as well as the Battlefield 3 biggest rival, is about to hit store shelves tomorrow unless you're picking it up at midnight tonight at your local gaming store.

What we would like to suggest for you, is to be aware and very careful with this game when it comes to reviews posted online. A great site to go to when comparing reviews is http://www.metacritic.com/. They're an excellent source to go to in order to follow many critical reviews.

The reason we post this is simply to help those whom are stretched for cash this holiday season when figuring where to put their hard earned dollar with Skyrim coming up as well as other titles that are on the market now. Is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 really something different or unique enough from other installments into the franchise to justify your hard earned money? Call of Duty has a release pretty much yearly and that causes us some concern. Its amazing Assassins Creed has pulled off what it has done over as many years with a yearly release. All we're saying really, is to be careful even with reviews as there's a lot of hype surrounding the release of Call of Duty.

With media sites, its a business. Those sites are paid for advertising from other large companies and whatever can draw the most attention and retain those readers over the competition is going to get the final bid from those advertisers and make that final dollar. I suppose some may call it "the buy-off." It does seem a little strange we'd be posting such an article as this in wake of the biggest multiplatform release of the year but, we do want you to be sure that what you're picking up is what you're expecting and looking for.
