Today both Sony and Sucker Punch Studios, the developers behind the Sly Cooper and most recent InFamous games series, announced their alliance moving forward in the console wars ensuring Sony Computer Entertainment secure their games as exclusives on the Sony platforms from here on out. No specifics were mentioned as to whether it was a timed exclusive with Sony for five or ten years but, we're willing to bet Sony have no intentions of letting such a talented team go any time soon. I believe its whole-heartedly what Sucker Punch have wanted anyway. Sucker Punch's Brian Flemming had the following to say on the subject:
“We’ve enjoyed an incredible relationship with Sony that has allowed us to combine our creative design capabilities with their guidance to make some of the best franchises to hit the PlayStation platforms. Equally important, the relationship with SCE has provided us the flexibility and trust to take creative risks and invent new properties. And best of all, we get to keep doing what we do — pushing ourselves to make more innovative games and more exciting experiences for PlayStation gamers!”So, looks like Sly Cooper and Cole McGrath will remain at home on the PlayStation platform. Now that Sucker Punch have been acquired as rumor had suggested, it causes us to wonder what Jack Tretton and David Cage have going on behind the curtain. Is Sony looking to pick up Quantic Dream as well as has been rumored?
