Mass Effect 3 Delayed (Like My Fleight)

Well, like they used to say. "I have some bad news and some good news." The bad news is that we won't be seeing Mass Effect 3 this year as we had planned and marked out calenders, canceled our appointments and took the day off to play as it has been delayed, for reasons we can't figure why. Perhaps even though EA knows their game can compete and its the Holiday Season they.... Well, we don't know why. The holiday season has always been the time because gamers can buy Uncharted 3 or Skyrim and ask for Mass Effect 3 for Christmas. Who knows why this. The result of whatever it may be is that Mass Effect is tentatively slated for 2012 somewhere between January 1 and March 31.
"Mass Effect 3 will be released in the first three months of 2012. The development team is laser focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is the biggest, boldest and best game in the series, ensuring that it exceeds everyone's expectations."
Lame. I guess the good news is that we'll get to play an even more polished game. Perhaps EA felt that with all the games this year, securing Game of the Year would be difficult going up against Skyrim, L.A. Noire and Uncharted 3. We'll have to wait and see.

For all things Game of the Year, Skyrim, Uncharted 3 and all things game, check back as you keep you in the X-Gaming Zone at the XZONE.

UPDATE: It seems that BioWare and EA have clarified the reason for the games delay stating that its purpose to adjust the gameplay mechanics. This in turn EA hopes will achieve a 'larger market opportunity.' But, that's alright. Better to delay and polish it up than release it as a mediocre product that doesn't meet up to their expectations. We're alright with that.
