With the PlayStation Store Still down, it seems that it really hasn't affected sales as the PS3 still sits atop the overall sales of consoles for the week over the past few months while the Xbox 360 had ended its streak for one week during the PSN outage, the PlayStation 3 has remained in the lead for several months now. The Wii however continues to take a dip in sales. Could it be contributed to the fact that Nintendo has officially announced the Wii 2 for next year? In the handheld market, the DS towers over the rest and surprisingly, the PSP, even though its official details of the NGP haven't been announced yet seem to still be selling, but are also outselling the new 3DS. We suspect that $250 spent on a gadget for a little kid may be far too expensive and risky for a parent and Nintendo's sales are showing it. Especially when the unit only costs $101.00 to make.
PlayStation 3 124,467
Xbox 360 114,899
Wii 79,176
DS 106,825
PSP 93,863
3DS 89,028
