Rumor: New Console From Nintendo 2012?

Oh boy, here we go. We thought that consoles of this generation would last having a ten year life-cycle. That technology and video game development had become far too expensive this time around but it seems that for Nintendo, this is not the case and most likely so for Microsoft as it has been rumored earlier this year that Microsoft is already looking for new hardware techs since their last two had taken off. Supposedly one had left before the console had even finished and Robbie Bach left Microsoft last year. I believe the other was J. Allard.

Well, news has surfaced that Nintendo is prepping to announce new hardware at this years Electronics Entertainment Expo in L.A or maybe even before. Its rumored that Nintendo is working a full 1080p console that is claimed to be the "PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 killer," and is designed to bring back the hardcore gaming crowd slated for release sometime in 2012. How that's going to work is beyond me considering Nintendo has been a family friendly company since Nintendo laid the first brick. Their marketing strategy worked so well with the Wii and they sold and are still selling consoles. What's the rush?

Never-the-less, we'll keep and open mind and find out in a few short months. Maybe we'll see that Doc Brown Mind Contraption-esk device we've seen floating around in cyberspace and be able to control games with our minds. It was mentioned as well that this Wii 2 will be backward compatible if sources are accurate. We'll see.
