In this months issue of PlayStation: The Official Magainze, Editor in Chief Gary Steinman opens up the magazine with his thoughts on the lifespan of the PlayStation 3 hardware. He states:
"Almost all tech diminishes in value as it gets older. But not so with the PlayStation 3... While competing consoles tend to top off in graphical quality, for example, midway through their lifecycle, PlayStations (PSOne, PS2, PS3, PSP) continue to deliver more performance the later they get into their lifecycle. Just compare PS3 games from launch, (Assassins Creed I'm sure wasn't in mind. Maybe Heavenly Sword and Resistance was to be fair) and its easy to see how they're not only surpassing the competition, but also delivering new visual experiences. And that Blu-ray gamble early on? It's paid off-not just for movie-watching, but storage space capacity for games. We also shouldn't forget true 1080p output, along with the best 3D gaming. That's all here, only on PS3."
Meanwhile, the PlayStation Network continues to grow, offering the widest range of content options with free access. And Home? Even that's on track to finally come into its own. I can't talk about what's going on with Home quite yet, but stay tuned: It's on its way to becoming a true destination for gamers."
Could this mean Home is coming out of its slums to be what Sony had finally intended it to be? We can only find out in time. Perhaps more will be revealed at E3? Stay tuned to ThumbDrive as we'll keep you in the Gamer Zone with Home news and all other gaming news.

PlayStation: The Official Magazine also covers what you can expect from Mays Qore 2011 Duke Nukem and F.E.A.R. 3 and Dirt 3 and Zombie Island, Hunted: Demons Forge, an entire article dedicated to Batman: Arkham City, the new Resident Evil (looking amazing as expected) and The Last Guardian. Some interesting info on a closer look at the trailer Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception - Meet Katherine Marlow, an article on Prey 2, and even something interesting pitting John Wayne from 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' up against John Marsden of 'Red Dead Redemption.' This issue is packed with all sorts of neat and interesting info so check it out either by subscribing or sitting next to the magazine wrack trying not to get busted. "This isn't a library" they'll tell you, but you do what you can.
